The Director of Care Assistant will co-ordinate services for our residents, ensuring quality resident care. In addition, this position assists with supervising nursing service, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, monitoring infections, auditing of nursing processes and other duties as assigned.

The ADOC reports to the Director of Care
FUNCTIONS
1. Assess a resident's condition by recognizing and interpreting signs and symptoms, and where appropriate, initiates remedial health measures.
2. Daily rounds on ill residents (isolation, recent falls, recent hospital discharge, palliative/End of Life)
3. Complete Care plans
4. Assist with scheduling
5. Assists with IPAC
6. Assists UCP, PSW/HCA staff as required
7. Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights and endeavors to respect and promote it.
8. Is responsible of proper care of equipment used in providing care to residents
9. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with all personnel in the facility
9. Participates in organized fire drills and safety measures for all personnel
10. Participates in maintaining adequate quantities of nursing care supplies
11. May be assigned to the floor to meet the needs of the home
12. Perform other job-related duties as required
SKILLS
RN or RPN license in good standing with CNO
Minimum 1 year geriatric experience
Familiar with IPAC
Demonstrate leadership and administrative ability
Working knowledge of RHRA compliance as asset
Excellent interpersonal skills
Teaching ability
Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and computer)
Proof of vaccination mandatory
Proof of COVID vaccination mandatory

Salary: From $30.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Pembroke, ON K8A 8J2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
