Position Overview

As the Assistant Director of Talent & Culture at Cabot Cape Breton, working with the Director of Talent & Culture, you will take the lead on the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, processes, and programs. Key Functions

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of Cabot Cape Breton’s Talent & Culture Department and play a critical role in the implementation of Cabot’s Talent & Culture strategy.
  • Supporting our team and attracting & selecting exceptional talent; working to build a strong employment brand.
  • Developing & administering employee-centric programs that build engagement, learning & excellence.
  • Learning and leveraging the programs and procedures that are necessary for our employees to do their best work, including payroll, time & attendance, HRIS, LMS, & safety & compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support Diversity and Inclusion within the organization.
  • Promote positive employee relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and fun.
  • Assist Departmental Leaders and Senior Managers with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in employee feedback.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience Human Resources experience, partnering with operational teams as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more of: Employee Engagement, Total Rewards, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Payroll, and/or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • CPHR (or equivalent) designation or working towards
  • Able to leverage technologies, skilled in social media with strong abilities in MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • An influential relationship builder with an approachable and collaborative leadership style.
  • Highly responsible, inclusive, & reliable
