Assistant Maintenance Manager

Title of Position: Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Duties: The Assistant Manager is required to perform the maintenance, fixing and upkeep of 55 individual log cabins, 2 staff accommodation buildings, 1 laundry/housekeeping room, 1 outdoor hot pool and physical grounds of Alpine Village Cabin Resort during its operational season of April 1 – October 31. The Assistant Maintenance Manager is also responsible for Winter maintenance, upkeep, snow removal, renovation/remodeling construction projects during the off-Season of November 1 – March 31. A demonstrated knowledge of general tradesperson/contracting practices as well as Hot Pool certification would make a candidate successful.

Term of Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position beginning March 18, 2024.

Language of Work: fluency in speaking, writing and reading English or French. Additional languages considered an asset.

Wage and Benefits: starting at $22.00/hour, with Performance and Longevity Bonus oppourtunity (additional $2.00-$3.00/hour). Starting wage may increase depending on experience.

Location of Work: 2km South of the Jasper townsite, on property at Alpine Village Cabin Resort in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Contract Info: 1 year contract. If successful, this candidate would be offered a 3 year contract extension.

Skill Requirements: The above duties require knowledge of general carpentry practices (framing, tiling, painting, etc), machinery maintenance, upkeep, and use, plumbing and electrical ability, HVAC knowledge and ability (lighting pilot lights, fixing furnaces, etc.), proper use of chemicals, landscaping, lawn-mowing, pruning tall trees from ladders, etc. It is also necessary the candidate is in excellent physical shape and well-being as lifting objects over 100 pounds, bending, squatting, kneeling, and confidence working from heights (6ft or higher ladders) is required.

- GED or High School Diploma required

- Bachelors’ degree or vocational training an asset

- First aid training an asset

- Experience working in hospitality/tourism industry an asset

- Demonstrated physical fitness ability

- Experience: 3+ years

- Valid Drivers License

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 44 per week
