I'm supporting one of our clients in the distribution sector, in their search for an Assistant Manager for their distribution center.
Responsibilities:
Production follow-up:
- Analyze distribution operations on your shift, define priorities and
allocate the team according to operational needs;
- Evaluate and ensure the operational productivity of your team and
participate in performance management;
- Analyze reports related to your department and take action;
Production management:
- Ensure standardization of procedures and work methods between
the different sectors of his shift as well as with other shifts;
- Participate in the definition and communication of overall strategy of
the distribution management team (supervisors and team leaders)

- Carry out active supervision rounds;
- Communicate and sensitize supervisors and other managers on OHS
standards and procedures to follow in the event of a workplace
accident;
- Ensure that the team works in a safe environment and respects
OHS standards;
- Ensure that material resources are used optimally.
- Ensure the accuracy and assembly quality of pallets produced;
Continuous improvement:
- Participate in the analysis and make recommendations related to
the work environment and equipment used by the team;
- Be a driving force behind the identification of opportunities for
improvement within the department;
- Act as a catalyst for operational changes related to your department by communicating and coaching the various stakeholders;
Management:
- Check and validate time sheets in Kronos software;
- Manages the workforce of assigned teams (recruitment, leave, rest, on-call, professional interview,
- Participate in the definition of the development plan in order to promote
the continuous evolution of your team's skills, coach supervisors and apply corrective measures as needed;
- Replace the Distribution Manager when necessary
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in administration, supply chain, operations management
or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar position;
- Proven experience in implementing and managing operational growth
operations;
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and develop a team;
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously;
- Good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel; Word and
Outlook
- Good communication skills;
- Analytical, organized and detail-oriented;
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
PROCESS: Initial interview with Gabriel Lemoine, Fed Supply Recruitment Consultant - followed by an interview with the company's Human Resources Manager and Position Manager.
