Buffalo Trail Public Schools values administrators as integral team members, responsible for site-based management and educational leadership. We are looking for an experienced or aspiring Assistant Principal to join our team at Wainwright Jr/Sr High School in Wainwright, Ablerta. This position will include approximately 0.6 FTE teaching duties.
About Wainright Jr/Sr High School: Wainwright High School is an active and vibrant Alberta school that is home to approximately 310 students from Grade 7 to 12. We offer a variety of educational programming including Knowledge and Employability courses. Students are also encouraged to access our wide range of option courses including Indusgtrial Arts, Foods, Fine Arts, Athletics and Off-Campus opportunities.
Location Details: Wainwright is a town situated in East Central Alberta on Highway 14, approximately 2 hours east of Edmonton. The region's major industries include oilfield and agriculture. The area is also home to CFB Wainwright, a Canadian Armed Forces military base.

Education/Qualifications:
Hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate;
Meet the Leadership Quality Standard;
Hold or eligible to complete Alberta's Leadership Certification;
A Master's degree (or working towards one) in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction would be considered an asset
Reporting directly to the Principal the successful candidate will:
Demonstrate successful administrative experience/leadership training, along with the capability to facilitate staff development and foster professional growth;
Innovatively lead with awareness of current educational trends;
Be an effective communicator and dynamic leader with an appreciation for rural communities;
Be a strong instructional leader who can support teachers in utilizing diverse approaches to literacy, numeracy, and mental health education;
Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects our commitment to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment;
Collaborate with stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the community, to promote a shared vision and goals for the school;
Implement innovative educational practices and strategies to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and overall school performance;
Assit with the day-to-day operations of the school, including budget management, staffing, and resource allocation through a site-based management process;
Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of building relationships with students, staff and parents through active interaction both in the school and in the community;
Possess a team-oriented leadership style that demonstrates both a willingness to be actively involved in school activities and a commitment to supporting those taking a leadership role;
Possess strong organization, communication and problem-solving skills and is an effective team-builder
