What is the opportunity?
The incumbent will be responsible for the planning and production of distribution calculation and other tax deliverables for our investment fund clients. In order to be successful the incumbent must have a thorough understanding of the distribution calculation and tax reporting requirements for investment funds and strong managerial skills. The outcome will be compliant to all investment fund tax reporting requirements and accurate and timely tax reporting for RBC Investor Services clients
What will you do?
- Implement and perform oversight control on fund distribution calculation process
- Planning distribution calculation process by establishing tasks, objectives and priorities internally and with clients
- Developing, implementing and coordinating tax reporting policies and procedures within Fund Tax Team
- Work closely with service provider in regards to oversight of deliverables and deadlines including KPIs
- Improve internal controls and checks in distribution calculation procedures and deliverables to clients
- Responsible to liaise and provide information and reports to clients, internal and external auditors
- Coordinate, develop and maintain desk operating procedures for general and client specific distribution and tax procedures
- Identify and streamline processes to improve efficiency and use technology whenever possible
- Support staff in prioritizing work, define outcomes and how successes are measured
- Provide guidance and support the ongoing learning, growth and development of the teams
- Report on operational risk items and action plans
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 5+ years of related tax reporting experience in the investment fund industry or public accounting preferably in the financial services industry
- People management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational and time management skills
