Position: Associate Director, USA Cash Management Sales / Global Business Payments

Global Banking and Markets (GBM) is a leading Canadian Capital Markets and Investment Banking business with a growing platform in the US and Latin America, operating globally for over 100 years. Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange and precious & metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.

Purpose: The Associate Director is responsible for coordinating and expanding treasury and deposit relationships in the Corporate segment, typically large publicly traded clients.  You will work closely with our Global Banking and Markets Relationship Managers ensuring all Scotiabank Global Business Payments offerings, including Cash Management, commercial card, liquidity and trade finance are appropriately presented to clients consistent with short and long-range Bank objectives. Based in New York City, NY or Houston, TX.
What You’ll Do 
-The successful candidate has primary responsibility to defend and aggressively grow the bank’s Global Business Payment and deposit revenues.
-Deliver and exceptional and best in class customer experience providing industry knowledge and customized solutions. 
-Successfully partner with Global Banking and Markets Relationship Managers, Deposit Specialists, Trade Finance, Commercial Card and Global Solutions to bring the entire bank to the client as appropriate. 
-Provide feedback and collaborate with Product and internal partners to aid in the continued development of our offerings and develop solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
-Grow and expand existing relationships, introducing new opportunities and solutions to clients.
-Update and maintain Salesforce ensuring an accurate reflection of coverage and the opportunities in the pipeline.
-Maintain a strong presence to our clients as a trusted advisor with a demonstrated level of industry expertise and understanding of best practices in Cash Management and banking.
-Lead the negotiations and pricing discussions for Global Business Products with clients to ensure profitability and revenue growth.
-Provide support and guidance to the team and broader Corporate Sales segment.
 
What You’ll Bring 
-Minimum of 5 years complex Cash Management, sales or relationship management experience
-University degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related discipline 
-Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
-Strong understanding of relationship banking
-Knowledge of global treasury, Cash Management and deposit products and solutions
-Working knowledge of the Scotiabank’s sales and service technology platforms and templates as needed
-Strong time management, planning and organizational skills
-CTP or CertICM designation is a plus
