The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in the practice of law, either in estate litigation and/or medical malpractice or as a solicitor in the areas of estate planning and conveyancing, but we are open to all years of call. Note: we are looking for the perfect person for our team not the person who appears perfect on paper.
An existing practice is an asset but not necessary.
Experience with social media management and development is also an asset but not necessary.
We have two small office dogs, one hypoallergenic and one not, so you must either love or be able to tolerate dogs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Prepare legal documents
- Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters
- Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues and external parties
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in British Columbia
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures
The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of the legal system, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to build strong client relationships.
Salary and performance bonuses commensurate with experience. Fee split is available for the right candidates
