Position Description
The Associate Specialist, People & Culture supports the operations of the People & Culture team by being the initial point of contact for any People & Culture related inquiries. This role will manage the payroll process, support all recruitments (including those part of the volunteer program), and will be responsible to manage all updates and provide support with the Human Resource Information System (Workforce Now).
Key Responsibilities
- Be the front-line contact for all People & Culture inquiries (benefits, policy interpretation, payroll, etc.) and coordinate inquires to the appropriate team member.
- Process semi-monthly payroll, and ensure payroll taxes are remitted accurately and on time.
- Support all recruitments by creating requisitions in ADP Workforce Now (WFN), posting roles online, scheduling and coordinating interviews, phones screens, and conducting reference checks.
- Manage employee data in WFN to ensure it is up-to-date and process all employee changes.
- Manage employee health benefits and RRSP enrollments and inquiries.
- Coordinate and deliver onboarding for new hires.
- Process all invoices for the People & Culture department.
- Manage the staff service award program.
- Support annual audit requests as they relate to payroll processing.
- Prepare contracts and other documentation for various staff changes or other People & Culture communications.
- Provide support during the CN Tower Stair Climb and support day-to-day administrative needs of the Volunteer Program.
- Administer training budget.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience as a human resources coordinator or generalist OR a combination of education and related experience.
- At least 2 years of experience managing and maintaining an HRIS.
- Pursuing a CHRP or CHRL is an asset.
- Prior experience managing payroll is a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks within time sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail in data entry, record-keeping, and documentation.
- Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Proven ability to develop effective, positive relationships and gain credibility across the organization through a service-oriented and collaborative approach.

- This position is a 2-year fixed term contract role and is part-time (4 days per week).
