Athletic Director (Competition #T1920-0820)

Iron Ridge Secondary Campus (IRSC) is a brand-new school opening in August 2024. IRSC is looking to create a vibrant educational institution committed to fostering academic excellence, character development, and physical well-being among students. Assignment:

Full-time 1.0 FTE probationary teaching position

Overseeing all aspects of athletic programming as the Athletic Director in addition to teaching physical education classes.

Athletic Director duties include:

Manage day-to-day operations of the athletic department

Scheduling practices and games

Coordinating transportation

Ensuring compliance with league restrictions

Recruit, train, and supervise coaches, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to help student-athletes succeed.

Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork and personal growth.

Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate athletics into the broader school community and promote a holistic approach to education.

Duties will commence on August 28, 2024, and continue for the remainder of the 2024/2025 school year.

Qualifications:

Experience in instructing Physical Education, Coaching, and/or previous relevant Athletic program experience would be considered an asset.

Passion for education and commitment to student success.

Strong technology and 21st-century learning skills

Assessment literate

Ability to utilize varied instructional strategies to meet a wide range of individual needs

Strong planning and organizational skills

Strong classroom management skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Willingness to work in a team-oriented learning environment and be a positive team member

Commitment to ongoing professional growth

An understanding of High School Redesign Principles, the Collaborative Response Model, and Differentiation would be considered an asset

Ability to teach in a flexible learning environment.
