Anderson Behavior Consulting is a company committed to supporting those on the autism spectrum and their families by providing customized 1:1 in home and community based supports. We support autistic individuals aged 2- 18 on learning a variety of important skills such as communication, life skills, social skills, and early academics. We provide a caring team atmosphere where you'd work directly under the supervision of a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) who would provide ongoing training and support.

We are looking for a contractor for the Penticton area who is wanting to gain experience in the fields of education, psychology, health, or child development. In your role as a Support Worker/behavior interventionist you'd be making a big difference in the lives of children. You would be hired to work shifts that would likely be 2 hours in length in the child's home. We offer our contractors flexible schedules, paid driving time, ongoing advancement opportunities and a work culture that is caring and supportive!

This would be a great position for students and those with previous childcare or teaching experience. We have both entry level positions available as well as more senior positions for those with more experience and looking for advancement.

Duties:

- Receive training on autism, applied behavior analysis, and positive support strategies.
- Work 1:1 with children in their home implementing their care and support plans where you'd be teaching them a variety of skills both through play and more structured teaching opportunities. Shifts would likely be 2 hours in length.
- Take data on the child's progress
- Participate in team meeting and collaborate with the supporting behavior analyst.

Job Requirements:

- Experience working with children, particularly those who are neurodiverse or have learning differences.
- Creativity and strong play skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organized and reliable
- Able to take data on the child's skills and progress
- Clear criminal record check to work with vulnerable individuals
- Has their own vehicle to drive to and from sessions.

- Able to work as a contractor in British Columbia
- Availability for daytime (morning or early afternoon) shifts and/or afterschool shifts during the week.
- Education in the field of psychology, health, applied behavior analysis, or child development would be an asset.
- Having previous experience as a Support Worker, childcare provider, or behavior interventionist would be an asset.

If you are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students and learning more about child development we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
