Job Description: The CDM Clinical Nurse Educator reports to the Clinical Integration Chronic Disease Manager and works with an interdisciplinary team with a chronic disease prevention and management focus. This position is responsible for diabetes education, integrating in-depth clinical expertise with the principles of teaching and learning, in the provision of self-care management for clients, families, health professionals and students in group and individual settings.
Required Qualifications
Basic Life Support for Care Givers (BLS-HCP)
Current certification with Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board (CDECB) required upon employment
Current CPR Certification
Registration or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
Requires a minimum of three years experience in the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular, stroke and pulmonary diseases.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Computer skills in such programs as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Demonstrated ability in teaching staff and clients/patients in one to one and group settings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
