Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the CMHN is accountable for the provision of screening, assessment, referral, case management, and treatment of individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. This includes persons who may be at risk of developing disability due to mental illness
Required Qualifications
Degree or Diploma from a recognized Psychiatric Nursing Program
Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to accept and implement change
Ability to apply research to nursing practice
Ability to apply system-level thinking in evaluating nursing practice and process and designing strategies and aligning projects for whole system improvement
Ability to assist and develop policies and procedures according to best practices
Ability to be proactive, flexible and creative in decision making
Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Ability to conduct assessments, prioritize client needs, and develop treatment plans to meet needs regarding treatment with a client and family-centered approach to care
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and communication with other health care professionals
Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
Ability to facilitate relationships to meet goals and objectives
