Faema Cafe is seeking Baristas to be an essential part of our team at our Vaughan

location with opportunities for growth.

Full-time and part-time hours available.

General Description of Position

This job creates the Faema Experience for our customers by providing them with

prompt service, quality food, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Barista duties:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso-based drinks, specialty brews, and pour-overs, following company recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment with precision and attention to detail, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable service, engaging with customers to make personalized recommendations and answer questions about our coffee offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee bar area, including brewing stations, countertops, and display cases, following health and safety guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies, and communicate with management to place orders as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your coffee knowledge and barista skills.

Server duties:

• Welcome guests warmly, seat them, and provide menus, ensuring a positive first impression and excellent customer service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately, entering them into the POS system, and communicating special requests to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and drinks promptly and accurately, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and provide assistance as needed.
• Handle payments, process transactions, and reconcile cash drawers at the end of shifts.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service and resolve any issues that arise.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista, server, or in a similar customer service role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively during peak business hours.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary: $16.55-$17.55 per hour
