As a Billing Specialist, a typical day might include:
- Preparing, issuing, and delivering invoices in accordance with set procedures, standards, and performance metrics
- Ensuring appropriate set up, tracking, and monitoring of special billing arrangements
- Liaising with the Accounting team on various programs, bordereaux, and other Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable reconciliations
- Administering the Premium Financing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of contracts and funding arrangements
- Reviews Accounts Receivable and reports write offs
- Assisting with the non-payment process, weekly cash flow forecast, internal and external reviews/audits and other compliance reporting requirements
- Maintaining a standardized electronic document management system
- Supporting the Senior Billing Specialist in administering the department score card with a view to continuous improvement
- Creating, renewing, and amending policies, both agency and direct bill and reviews policies and reports against support to ensure accuracy.
- Handling routine internal/external client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Obtains Premium Finance quotes
- Prepares and issues policy packages

Must Haves:
- Minimum 2 years’ billing experience in a fast-paced corporate administrative/accounting role
- General Insurance Salesperson Level 1 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia; equivalent license in province of residence with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license, or commitment to obtain a Level 1 license, within 6 months
- Post-Secondary education, preferred
- Computer skills including proficiency with: Microsoft Office; client relationship management applications
- Excellent organizational & time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple files and deadlines
- Superior oral and written communication skills

- Previous work experience with an Insurer or Broker
- Experience using Epic or other broker management systems an asset
