Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree ina related field (biology, wildlife biology, ecology, natural resource management, etc.).
  • Minimum four (4) years of wildlife related experience (or an acceptable combination of education and experience), including field-based biological sampling, analysis and reporting, and providing advice within a regulatory regime.
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) in BC with the College of Applied Biologists (CAB). Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the CAB within six (6) months of employment. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
  • Experience assessing and monitoring natural resources.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Master's degree in a related field (biology, wildlife biology, ecology, natural resource management, etc.).
  • Experience leading staff in project or field settings.
  • Experience interpreting and applying natural resource management legislation and policy.
  • Experience working with First Nations on wildlife management including projects, strategic initiatives, and collaboration.
  • Experience in managing large game.

Provisos /Willingness statement(s)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's licence.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be physically able to carry equipment and supplies in difficult terrain.
  • Willingness to conduct field work in all weather conditions and environments, including travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in camp conditions and operation of a variety of equipment.
  • Willingness to meet safety standards of WorkSafe BC.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
