Responsibilities:
Operate Refrigeration Room Equipment. Start/Stop equipment as required. (Record logging of equipment every 2 hours). Operate Boiler Room Equipment. Start/Stop as required (Daily boiler chemical testing). Operate Plant equipment's for production( Record logging of equipment every 2 hours)
- Operate a boiler and required maintenance as set forth by Nova Scotia Labour, Skills and Immigration Technical Safety Division
- Daily boiler feed water chemical testing
- Maintenance & repairs of boilers (General)
- Yearly cleaning of boilers (dismantle & reassemble) preparing for inspection by Nova Scotia Labour, Skills, and Immigration Technical Safety Division
- Boiler feed water repairs & maintenance (seal, bearing replacement, etc.)
- Receive Light Oil fuel (No.2) deliveries.
- Clean filters for seawater to the plant before, after during for adequate flow for start of production.
- Oversee the refrigeration systems and plant operators, contractors, maintenance personnel when working on equipment.
- Establish and implement procedures for safely installing, inspecting, operating, and maintaining the plant equipment in accordance with applicable governing acts and regulations.
- Be responsible for the operation of the refrigeration compressor room, Brine freezers, cooler and cold storage, and all maintenance.
- Operate compressor and other equipment as needed during production.
- Checking all mechanical equipment, i.e., controls, gauges, valves, and other components to ensure the plant operation is operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain logbooks and records for inspections of any equipment in the plant.
- Completing Work Orders and Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4th Class Standardized Power Engineer Ticket
- Experience in working in production facilities or similar environment is an asset.
- Ability to work on call to respond to alarms and emergency service.
- Ability to triage multiple priorities effectively to address key issues first to successful resolution.
- Calm and steady under pressure, applying sound judgement and problem-solving skills.

WORKING CONDITION:
- Location: Louisbourg, NS
- Physical Demands: 24/7 operation – 12 hr shifts
- Environment: Cold, damp
- Schedule: 24/7 continuous operation, On Call, 12 hr shift
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
