We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and hands-on experience in financial management.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Accurately record financial transactions.
- Issuing cheques and initiating deposits.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank statements to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor and categorize company expenses, ensuring proper documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and statements.
- Generate routine financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a MUST.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- College or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- At least 1-2 years work experience in and finance or accounting role
- Experience in the insurance brokerage is preferred (not must)
- Experience with QuickBooks and PowerBroker
- Your time management skills are top notch and your ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is your forte.
Position is available to work out of Concord or Whitby office.
