We have an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper to join our team remotely, working part-time as a key member of our team.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As our Bookkeeper, you will oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable, assists with accounts receivable when required, administers payroll, all tax and payroll remittances and daily financial entries and reconciliations within a manufacturing business using specialised software, spreadsheets and other tools to track and manage data.
Duties:
- Record financial transactions
- Manage bank accounts, credit card accounts, Ebury and Paypal and reconcile on a monthly basis
- Process accounts payable - maintain up-to-date suppliers details in QBO, ensure taxes are correctly applied to invoices (within a manufacturing business)
- Assist with accounts receivable when required, direct contact with some customers
- Bi-weekly payroll processing
- Prepare and remit - Monthly (Payroll tax, BC PST sales tax), Quarterly (GST, Worksafe BC) and Annually (MB PST/SK PST sales tax, Worksafe BC, T4’s/T4A’s)
- Perform month-end closings and send monthly financials to CFO
- Prepare and provide accountant with accurate financial statements for year-end accounting
- Report issues and variances to CFO when they occur
- Keep informed of all current tax requirements and implement as necessary
- Manage sales team commission on a monthly basis
- Monitor debt levels
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
- Proficient in 10-key typing
- Familiarity with GAAP principles and accounting best practices
- Experience with bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
- Knowledge of tax regulations and financial report writing
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using Quickbooks accounting software
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
