Bookkeeper

DUTIES:

- Responsible for full-cycle accounting including A/R; A/P; balancing of G/L accounts; month-end and year-end accounting procedures; monthly reporting of financial reports to Label Design Ltd. management.

- Prepares, balances and submits government remittances/reports including Corporate Income Tax, EHT, WSIB and HST.

- Calculates, enters and verifies payroll through Ceridian. Posts A/P & G/L entries; balances G/L accounts; distributes and balances vacation pay; verifies year-end payroll reports (T4 totals); prepares T4As for commissioned sales people.

- Monitors banking activity on a daily/weekly basis and monthly reconciliation.

- Signs company cheques; initiates EFT; wire payments; and foreign exchange transactions (limit is $30,000).

- Provides reports and liaisons with accounting and bank associates.

- Negotiates and administers the group benefit plan maintaining a current spreadsheet of wages/group benefit premiums.

- Assists the President/General Manager with Human Resource requirements.

- Supervises and works closely with office and accounting administrator and responsible for conducting annual and interim reviews.

- All other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 5 years Accounting and Sage software experience a must.

- Good general knowledge of accounting principles and software is required

- Familiarity with phone systems, mailing systems, processing payments and reconciling accounts

- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, with the ability to learn new software easily

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization

Compensation: Between $30-$37.50 per hour including comprehensive benefits package
