Bookkeeper (Contract)

Responsibilities:

• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
• Assist with accounts payable - review, code, and enter invoices
• Complete tax forms and manage payments
• Answer client inquiries
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and post to GLs
• Reconcile bank deposits statements and credit card statements
• Perform a partial check of the posting process
• Develop and update systems to account for financial transactions by maintaining the chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Holds 3+ years of experience in an Accounting Technician or Bookkeeper role
• Experience with either SAGE 50 or QuickBooks
• Recent public accounting experience and familiarity with Tax Prep would be an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize a heavy workload
• Holds strong analytical and problem-solving skills
