Job Overview:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with budgeting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, is proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Hours
This position has a flexible schedule based on candiate preference. The successful candidate may choose between 20-37.5 hours per week.
Location
This position is an in-office position at 3018 Ross Road, Nanaimo, BC.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Payroll (ADP)
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Review commissions and records in our CRM
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations
- File and pay GST monthly as applicable
- Process final payments for travel bookings
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Data entry into our invoicing and database systems
- Invoicing clients
- QC: checking client invoices for accuracy
- Co-op management
Experience:
- Experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
- Experience with account analysis and general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with budgeting processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: From $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 37.5 per week
