Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, possess excellent organizational skills and be willing to learn about our unique industry.

We are a locally owned and family-operated monument company in Peterborough and the Kawarthas. We specialize in monument sales, design and restorations. We have been in the cemetery and memorial industry for over 30 years. We bring compassion and comfort to our clients by looking out for them like our own family. Duties:
- Perform general bookkeeping duties, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks an asset)
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software (QuickBooks an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations is preferred

Schedule: approx. 15+ hours a week, flexible shifts during business hours Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
