Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Scarborough, ON (In-office)
Tenure: Part-Time, Temp (Possibility of permanent placement)
Position Overview:
Our client is a leading sporting goods organization looking to bring an experienced Bookkeeper onto their rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for general accounting, AP/AR, and general process improvement.
What you’ll be doing:
- Invoicing according to contract terms and timelines
- Monitor customer accounts for nonpayment
- Reconciliation of processed work to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Analyze invoice reports and charge expenses to accounts and cost centers as needed
- File AR/AP paperwork on a weekly basis
- Complete data entry, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain organization of vendor and customer data and files
- Conduct credit management tasks, including reporting aged receivables to upper management and following up with customers
- Utilize Quickbooks and MS Excel in daily tasks
- Carry out month-end duties
- Prepare and review weekly budgets, including highlighting variances and inputting data into dashboards
- Other duties as required
Must Haves:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- 2+ years of experience in a related role
- Strong expert-level experience in Quickbooks Online
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Understanding of Chart of accounts and working knowledge of Canadian Sales Tax
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $18.00 per hour
