A DAY IN THE LIFE
This is a part-time position (3 days/week).
Manage operational bookkeeping aspects related to planning, directing, and controlling financials, including overseeing billing processes.
Provide support for our team of lawyers, including preparation of their bills for clients.
Ensure our Trust Accounting records are compliant, and our Trust Reports are properly filed.
Manage our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
Perform accounting activities such as: expense reports, P&L, cashflow, collections, reconciliation, payables, GST, PST, and year end filings.
Liaise with benefits programs for our team.
Manage payroll and address questions from the team.
Manage relationships with suppliers to keep our team ready to meet our clients’ needs.
Provide support to general office administration, as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
5+ years of experience in an in-house law firm bookkeeping role.
Exceptional comprehension of Trust Accounting and experience in this area – you bring the answers!
A strong understanding of how trust money is handled and the accompanying requirements/processes.
Experience using PCLaw.
Knowledge of how to navigate and effectively use Microsoft Office Suite.
An open, direct, and transparent personality with an eye for detail and quality.
Ability to think creatively, take initiative, be resourceful, and solve problems.
Ability to successfully produce quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
