About the Team – Great Culture, Deep and Broad Experience
JUDI.AI is a start up of experienced entrepreneurs, banking and software specialists as well as data scientists. Our 25 employees collectively are musicians, skiers, runners, sailors, and yogis. Our head office is in Vancouver although like many companies today, we have a hybrid remote/office workplace. Our management team comes from a range of high growth and blue-chip technology companies like Telus, Vision Critical, Blast Radius and Diply.
About the Role – Can we Pique your Interest?
This role is about doing a little bit of everything. You will be the only accounting, finance, payroll, benefits person in the company. You will be the right hand to the CEO, helping run our business. Our CEO has a strong accounting background so he speaks your language! This role will never be dull or repetitive. One day you'll be doing A/R and A/P, the next you'll be preparing payroll and closing month end. You'll check our EOR has paid our US team, help the CEO with a SR&ED claim, grant applications and investor messaging all while keeping an eye on our accounting practices and procedures.
Responsibilities will include:
- General accounting and financial tasks
- Creating vendor invoices/bills
- A/R and A/P
- Accrual and recognition entries for revenue and expense items
- Monthly journal close, reconciliations, reporting
- Expense report review
- Prepare data for annual review by external auditor
- Tracking and ensuring schedules are managed for, revenue, lease, prepaid software, PP&A

Your qualifications:
- Proven accounting, financial, payroll and benefits experience in small companies with at least 3 years of experience;
- Degree or diploma in accounting or relevant work experience
- Good at seeing the big picture and asking smart questions;
- Good at diving into the details and getting stuff done;
- Experience in working Xero strongly preferred
- MS SharePoint, WagePoint (payroll), Sophos, coomdata, FIRMA/FX, expense apps
- Nice, friendly, helpful
- Good at communicating verbally and written
- Experience in public practice firms preferred
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance
Salary: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
