Bookkeeper (P/T Contractor)

Kano is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to support the accounting functions of a BC-based gaming company.

This is a part-time, contract position, working remotely for approximately 15 hours / month. Ideally the candidate will be located in Victoria, BC but other candidates from BC will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for full cycle bookkeeping including:
• monthly input of data provided includes reconciliation of banks and credit cards,
• accounts receivable
• accounts payable
• prepaid expenses
• payroll - input data only. Payroll provided
• monthly preparation of GST return.
• Tracking capital (fixed) assets.
• Understanding of foreign exchange (USD to CDN).
• Understanding of PST rules and regulation.
• Preparing and providing monthly financial statements.
• Preparing and compiling bookkeeping information for year end to send to accountant.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Excellent attention to detail, organized with a high degree of accuracy without supervision.
• Excellent communication skills both on the telephone and email.
• Strict confidentiality and discretion.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
• Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations.
• Proficient with Sage and Quickbooks accounting programs

Nice to haves

• Experience in the tech or gaming industry
• CPB certification

Pay: $30 - $55 / hour depending on experience
