Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk

Castleford Excavating provides a variety of residential and commercial property services. Our services include landscaping and excavating, underground utilities an site services, snow removal, salting and sanding. We also provide equipment rentals of backhoes, dump trucks, floats, snowplows, floats and more. Castleford Excavating has been serving the Ottawa Valley for more than 20 years. We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper-Accounting Clerk. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities of this position include:

Maintaining general ledgers and posting journal entries in Simply Accounting

Reconciling accounts. Maintain accounts payable and receivable.

Invoicing and bill payments. Calculating and preparing cheques. Preparing other statistical, financial and accounting reports etc.

Calculation and payment of quarterly HST. Receiver General reconciliation. End of fiscal year taxation.

Bi-weekly payroll. Preparing dictated quotes. Liaising with government agencies, other organizations and groups. Spreadsheet data entry. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

College diploma. Two or more years of experience in a similar role. Two years of experience (minimum) in bookkeeping, basic accounting and payroll.

Simply Accounting experience is required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail a must. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a busy office environment
