We are looking for a responsible, trustworthy, resourceful, dynamic individual to strengthen and become part of our team as a Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable. This position has a primary focus on accounts payable and is also responsible for a variety of Accounting related tasks including investigation and reconciliation of discrepancies in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Primary focus on Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Payable data entry, coding and records auditing
  • RMA tracking
  • Inventory Control
  • Vendor statement reconciliation
  • Credit Card statement reconciliation
  • Account reconciliation
  • Accruals and journal entries
  • Manage capital assets
  • Intercompany transactions
  • Conduct research and resolution of accounts payable issues
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies
  • Keep up to date with tax legislation
  • Telephone monitoring and door access
  • Maintain records as per policies
  • Recommendation of corrective actions and methods to improve process and procedures within the department
  • You will be handling confidential information with extreme care/privacy
  • Support Accounting Supervisor and other accounting finance team members, inventory management and cost accounting
  • Data entry and data management
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience, in a small to medium sized business
  • Postsecondary education in Accounting required
  • Possess a proactive work ethic in addition to excellent communication skills and a personable, professional approach to team members
  • Be coachable and willing to adapt to a fast paced environment and able to multitask
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks
