Branch Manager - Halifax

Eddy Group Limited, a Maritime based wholesale distribution business and one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has been a construction industry partner for over 100 years. The fifth-generation family business takes pride in providing quality products, customized solutions, and service to their industrial, commercial, and residential customer base. We currently have 11 locations throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. We are currently recruiting a Branch Manager to join our new team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, NS.

What is my role?

Reporting to the Corporate Sales Manager, you will be responsible for directing and controlling all sales initiatives and branch operations to achieve planned objectives. Additionally:

• You will direct and manage all activities to achieve annual plans and budgets for the branch, to ensure achievement of branch objectives within corporate guidelines.
• You will maintain and grow the branch relationship with core vendors, suppliers and agents as set out in the corporate objectives.
• You will regularly measure year-to-date progress and forecasting results to year-end for sales, gross margin, and expenses.
• You will ensure that the branch’s inventory is maintained at an optimal level to support branch sales and service and be within the guidelines set out by the budget.
• You will ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the building and manage current and future tenants.
• You will ensure the implementation of corporate policies and procedures as well as the maintenance of information systems to support branch sales and service.

This position oversees staff performance in all operational functions while conveying a feeling of trust, security and satisfaction to customers and staff to increase market share and enhance our reputation. • You possess a minimum of 7 years’ work experience in the wholesale distribution field.
• 3-5 years’ experience working in a management capacity.
• Post-secondary education in a related field is a strong asset.
• Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development.
• Business planning will be key to success in the role.
• Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills, as well as knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques is essential.
• Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature.

This is a full-time salaried position working onsite at our location at 31 Oland Cres. Halifax, NS. The location will be open from 7:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, but hours outside of these should be expected. The ability to travel to meetings, educational seminars and networking events is required. Annual base salary will be commensurate with your experience.
