What the day will look like
Collaborating with Mining Account Executives to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business;
Working with the Aon Global Broking network to deliver best in class program solutions.
Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
Initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the underwriting community through attendance and participation at industry functions and events;
Following up with insurers to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met;
Processing, and/or issuing documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals;
Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practices; and
Performing other related duties as assigned.
How this opportunity is different
In this role you’ll be joining a national broking team that works on a large scope of business from large complex multinational placements to junior miners and everything in between. You’ll be provided senior mentorship for career development and technical growth, and you’ll be expected to support the junior members of the team with the same.
The inherent nature of the mining means you’ll be collaborating with colleagues across the country and around the globe, in particular our global broking centres, engineers, and client service teams.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Minimum 5-9 years of commercial insurance and/or marketing/broking experience required;
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
Client focused and confirmed relationship building skills;
Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
Shown ability to prioritize challenging requirements and deadlines under pressure;
Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package
