Role: Business Development Consultant
Employment Status: Contract
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Overview:
The Business Development Consultant will develop and execute strategic plans for the expansion of the Drilling and Blasting contractor’s surface mining and infrastructure businesses in British Columbia.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead expansion in surface mining (e.g., site development, aggregate production, mineral extraction) and infrastructure (e.g. highway, pipeline) markets
- Execute on the strategic plan, including the development of key relationships and the identification of new product, partnership, and acquisition opportunities
- Actively participate in industry associations and trade conferences
- Provide weekly reports to Management team
- Collaborate with Management team to prepare and deliver quotes and negotiate contracts
- Work with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met and project goals are achieved
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining, infrastructure, drilling and blasting, heavy civil construction, or related service providers (e.g. explosives, drills, rock tools)
- Recognized experience in sales or Business Development
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Key Competencies:
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Strong understanding of current market rates, key commercial terms, and industry structure
Compensation:
Monthly retainer, sales commissions, and travel and entertainment budget.

This is a remote role requiring extensive travel within British Columbia.

Salary: From $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
