Job Summary
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of ABL GTA sales Agency and will lead and manage a team of contractor and distributor sales reps. They will be accountable for deploying and measuring individual and team goals for various business metrics. The candidate will own driving all types of projects in addition to stock and discretionary business as part of the company's overall objectives. The candidate's team will also lead the design build project sales for the commercial and industrial market for contractors and distributors with a focus on lighting and controls designs. The person will need expertise of market pricing and trends. They will need to be collaborative in nature, working closely with cross functional teams to maximize win rate and profitability. They will also need to understand the quotation and customer service processes to facilitate strong relationships with these groups. The candidate must be a strong relationship builder, cultivating key customer account at both contractor and distributor partners, ensuring Acuity is the brand of choice. The Contractor Distributor Sales Manager will also act as an escalation point to quickly and efficiently resolve issues internal and external issues.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Accountable for setting and achieving individual and team goals. Using data analytics, the candidate will need to evaluate results against targets and act accordingly. They will need to identify root causes and create counter measures to achieve continuous improvement. They will coach and mentor the team, creating an opportunity for growth and development within the group. They will need to build an environment of clear and open communication, customer service, and strong culture to ensure teamwork and achievement of goals.   
Sales calls to maintain, grow and develop relationships with key decision makers in the GTA at distributor, contractor and end user (where required) to increase sales and drive brand preference. Must be comfortable with engaging at all levels within the organizations.
Engage cross functionally with customer service, quotations and specification sales to harmonize overall team results, increase project win rates and improve customer experience for stock sales and projects.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
-3-5 years of related experience
-Experience with Visual Lighting and Controls design, Adobe PDF pro and Bluebeam. 
-Meeting planning for both virtual and in-person events, for both internal and external stakeholders. This includes the conception, development, execution, and follow-up stages.
-Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as a sense of curiosity and creativity. They must be able to present to a large group of people in an engaging fashion. Ability to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
-Leadership skills - will act as a coach and mentor to the contractor and distributor sales team, as well as deliver performance reviews, career guidance, and administer discipline if necessary.
-Relationship building - will need to develop and maintain key customer relationships.
