As a Business Manager, you will be the single point of contact for all facility-related needs (e.g., Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds). You will be responsible for a high level of Facility Services for a manufacturing facility, administering contract services, measuring the performance of such contractors, and reporting on the business unit.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Term: 12-month contract position with possibility of extension
- Start date: Immediate
- Work Schedule: Day shift, with some flexibility in start and end times
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
- Work location/environment: Onsite, Manufacturing Facility in Oshawa, Ontario
Qualifications and Education
- Relevant post-secondary education
- 5+ years’ relevant experience
- Experience with finance, managing budgets for a business unit
- Experience managing contracts/service agreements
- Accustomed to monitoring and measuring the performance of outside contractors/services
- Working knowledge of business application software (Microsoft office, Outlook Calendar) and other related electronic tools
- Ability to develop and lead effective teams (third party)
- Excels at working autonomously and making sound decisions independently
Responsibilities
- Be the single point of contact for all facility-related needs, directing field calls to appropriate people/Contract Service Providers
- Maintain open communication between the company and Contract Service Providers
- Ensure Contract Service Providers are complying with company safety standards
- Ensure Contract Service Providers are delivering efficient and timely facility services in the areas of Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds services, as well as driving continuous improvement and sharing lessons learned
- Drive strategic and analytical planning to optimize building and facility services guided by industry benchmark standards; for example, space utilization, energy efficiency, and Service Agreement deliverables
- Develop creative solutions to complex facilities challenges; for example, maximize the functionality of current ticket system for facility services
- Compile reports and communicate data to various stakeholders
