Cafeteria Operations Supervisor

Position Overview

As Cafeteria Operations Supervisor, under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager and with shared supervisory oversight with the Senior Chef, you are responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations. Your focus will be all areas of operations including financial administration relating to inventory control, food costing and inventory analysis, menu and recipe planning, manpower planning, quality control and food safety processes.

Responsibilities

Operations:

• Ensure that the Cafeteria processes and instructions as established by the Manager and Quality Control System are being followed by all team members.

Inventory Control:

• Monitor costs and coordinate weekly grocery orders with Inventory Coordinator to ensure that they meet the demand of the weekly menu rotation.
• Costing of all meals prepared on a daily basis to standardize recipes.
• Monthly Inventory Reports
• Sourcing and costing of non-food items required for daily operations.

· Vendor negotiations and special agreements

· Quality Control System:

• Implement and maintain ISO certification processes and food safety procedures
• Assist in addressing any food quality or recipe issues that arise and assist to find solutions

Special Events: Be actively involved in quoting, planning and execution of special events.

Staffing: Involved in manpower planning, hiring, training and appraisals to ensure we offer consistent, quality and appetizing food along with fast and efficient customer service.

Coverage: Cover in a general way when Senior Chef or Cafeteria Manager are absent

Food Preparation: If applicable, be involved in prep or cooking as required.

Qualifications and Experience

· Minimum University Education

· Previous experience in Cafeteria Operations

· Graduate of a cooking school or program an asset
