Job Title: Grower

1. Job Description Overview: Reporting to the Master Grower, the Grower is responsible for the care and growth lifecycle of cannabis plants within a licensed facility. The Grower performs tasks to support growing processes including but not limited to cleaning, preparing, watering, cloning, pruning, defoliation, and transplanting ensuring production of high quality, healthy and prolific cannabis plants.

2. Reports to: Master Grower & QA

3. Scope of Role: All the tasks in the growing process according to the master plan including cleaning, preparing, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays and waste disposal Manage and account for all inventory and supplies. Supports cultivation leaders to develop and/or maintain grow protocols and nutrient. Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with Health Canada regulations.
Diligently follows SOPs in accordance with GPP guidelines. Maintain concise daily records and ensure documentation is accessible and organized in a compliant manner as per QA guidelines.

Apply knowledge/awareness of preventative maintenance of plant diseases, insects and fungi.

Able to learn new techniques to expand knowledge in nutrient of individual strains, high yield recipes, controlled stress environments to different lighting systems and set ups.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Assist with additional tasks and support other departments as assigned.

4. Qualifications:
a. Must reside in Alberta and preferably 15mins drive range from Red Deer.

b. Minimum of 2-5 years of commercial grow experience is an asset.

c. Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc.

d. Required Competencies: Great attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Solid team player who promotes a culture of professionalism, integrity, quality and teamwork. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required to assist in proper plant care. Ability to possess or successfully obtain Health Canada’s Security Clearance under the Cannabis Act is a must.

f. Physical Requirements: Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: standing, walking, bending/reaching (repetitive), pushing/pulling (up to 300 lbs), lifting (up to 40 lbs) and squatting. Ability to work in environments with elevated temperature and humidity, up to 30 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity. Ability to work in environments with variable lighting (from very bright to very dark). Ability to work in environments with cooler temperatures +/- 6 degrees Celsius. Ability to work for an 8-hour shift period wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to full-face or half mask respirators, medical gloves, safety eyewear and face masks. Ability to regularly work with cleaning products including, but not limited to, Sanidate, Shyield, Benefect Simple Green and Isopropyl Alcohol. This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis, plant pollen or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
