Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the assembly and installation of housing accommodations such as insulation, ceilings, bulkheads, floors, floating floors, and general furniture items.
Ensure work carried out meets quality control standards.
Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within worksite.
Assist in the assembly and fitment of metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits.
Aid in the Installation of fabricated components in the final product.
Assist in the layout of ceilings, assembling beam supports, beams and edges.
Assist with the Installation of ceilings, in the fitment of necessary inspection hatches, Assist in the placement of lights, ventilation, air conditioning, fire detection, and fire fighting devices and systems.
Assist in the installation of Subfloor or floating floors.
Anchor and level furniture in relation to room bulkheads, doors, and ceilings.
Assist with the installation and minor adjustments to ensure originally manufactured components comply with manufacturer specifications.
Seal gaps between different furniture items, bulkheads and ceilings – sketching linings for subsequent manufacture
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience as a carpenter’s helper, or a background in construction or technical hand skills
Proficiency in hand tools and basic power tools
Familiarity with basic measurement methods
Experience with handling controlled products
Experience with mixing, drying, and curing times is an asset
Knowledge of measurement, cutting and sheet supporting installation is advantageous
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to obtain or possess an Enhanced Security Clearance and Controlled Goods
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
