Full Job Description:

Beaver Renovations is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Helper Carpenter. Responsibilities:

· Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas

· Assist lead carpenters in all phases of construction projects, including but not limited to framing, installing fixtures, and finishing work.

· Operate hand and power tools under the guidance of experienced carpenter

· Maintain clean and organized work areas to facilitate efficient project progress.

· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

· Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials

· Remove rubble at the sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment

· Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials. Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.

· Installing drywall and other project materials

· cutting boards and wood planks to specific sizes using a table or circular saw

· painting walls and other surfaces with paint rollers, brushes, and spray equipment

· Installing plasterboard or sheetrock on ceilings and walls with nails, hammers, hand tools, and trowels

· attaching moulding and other wood trimmings to ceilings or walls

· Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

· Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others

Qualifications:

· High school or equivalent.

· minimum of two years’ experience in construction or carpentry is preferred.

· Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment as needed.

· Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques.

· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced carpenters.

· Punctuality and reliability in attendance and work performance.

· Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.84-$20.78 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• carpentry: 2 years (preferred)

• Halifax, NS: Relocate before starting work (required)
