Established in 2007, Thornbury Craft Co. is a leader in the craft beverage industry with award winning ciders, beers, and seltzers. We proudly craft our cider and seltzers in our state-of-the-art production facility amidst 7,500 acres of apple orchards, in the heart of apple country. Using only the finest apples these orchards have to offer, we have created premium, easy drinking, crisp, and refreshing ciders.
Our beer is carefully handcrafted, and we are committed to crafting small batch craft beer. Our commitment to quality has put Thornbury Craft Co. on the award-winning map. Our beers are now brewed on site in our 5,000 sq.ft. purpose-built brewery.
We are looking to fill a position immediately.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to.
- Assist with all processes of juice procurement through cellaring, blending, aging, tasting, filtering, sanitation, transfers, blending, bottling, canning and distribution.
- Perform all fermentation duties including chaptalization and amelioration, starting and monitoring Ferments.
- Maintaining the Fermentation Log
- Preparing and adding dry good additions as directed.
- Conducting lab analysis testing.
- Accurate documentation of the above.
- Maintain a complete inventory of cider/beer ingredient additives.
- Ensuring that quality parameters are met at all times.
- Hygiene – sanitization of tanks and equipment.
- Follow all health & safety policies, practices and procedures.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- Good housekeeping.
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Interested candidates should possess.
- Completion or working towards a post-secondary education in winemaking/oenology or viticulture or equivalent education.
- Forklift operators permit with one (1) year experience preferably in a production environment an asset but will be provided.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act, Regulation 833 Control of Exposure to Biological or Chemical Agents, Regulation 851, Industrial Establishment, WHIMIS and WSIB regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work in various conditions and flexible work schedule (day, afternoon and weekend shift.)
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Confined space training an asset but will be provided.
- WHMIS training is an asset but will be provided.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license.
