1GX Center of Excellence (CoE) manages and oversees the performance of the Government of Alberta’s (GoA) enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, 1GX. The CoE has overall accountability for service delivery and associated contract and vendor relationship management. 1GX is the core ERP solution for GoA functional areas including human capital, supply chain, financial, and treasury management. 1GX CoE also provides strategic leadership for the ongoing enhancement and development of 1GX applications to meet the GoA’s evolving mission and continually changing business environment.


Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, 1GX Technology Excellence, the Central Processing Analyst’s primary role is to execute any manual centralized business processing on the 1GX product family (SAP/S4 HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, Kyriba, OpenText, etc.). e.g. payment processing producing business partner payments, generating wire transfers, submission of files to banks, print files generation, tax form production etc. This position works closely with the 1GX interface analyst to provide support to GoA’s technical components of 1GX ensuring the successful completion of centralized 1GX processes for all of the GoA and ILO such as execution of batch processing.


The position works in collaboration with the 1GX stakeholder community to ensure that business needs are considered, issues are addressed, and complex problems are resolved.


Responsibilities



Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:



1. Providing execution and support to the 1GX stakeholder community to ensure successful completion of centralized 1GX processing activities for all of the GoA and ILO.

  • Coordination and execution of business processing on behalf of all 1GX Clients, e.g., payment processing, producing business partner payments, generating wire transfers, submission and monitoring of files to banks, batch processing, print files generation, tax form production etc.
  • Adhoc AP payment run processing (i.e. emergency payment requests, adhoc AP payment run SR; includes Bank and Print file generation/transmission)
  • VIM/SCM Workflow Administration (i.e. Document Process reassignment)
  • Work with the third-party solution provider for printing, handling and mail distribution from the creation of our vendor and/ or customer cheque and paper remittances, correspondence and tax slips (e.g. invoices; statements, cheques, etc).
  • Kyriba processes consist of a combination of scheduled and automated batch processes, this position will be responsible for monitoring the successful completion of those jobs.

2. Supporting and consulting with the stakeholder community to ensure that business needs are considered, issues are addressed, and assisting with problem resolution.

  • Support stakeholders including 1GX users, Relevant Stream Business Community (HCM, Payroll, Finance, SCM, etc.)
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to inform and support items related to central processing activities such as emergent payments, cheque delivery and corresponding register, file generation, AP exceptions BP confirms etc.
  • Work with other CoE staff, particularly P&TE Finance, SCM, HCM/Payroll to address recurrent incidents and support ongoing technology excellence.
  • Provide information and business knowledge to Accenture and other product vendors as required, with resolution of problems.

3. Identify issues and provide analysis and recommendations in support of Technology Excellence.

  • Provide support to the FIN/SCM and HCM/Payroll Managers and the Strategic & Operational Excellence and Business and Information Excellence teams as required in the delivery of large-scale, complex projects or issue resolution.
  • Gather and communicate status and metrics to Manager, 1GX Technology Excellence.
  • Notify other Process and Technology Excellence (P&TE) team members and Strategic and Operational Excellence (S&OE) of significant trends that may be signs of a major issue or failure.
  • Provide advice and support the Manager, 1GX Technology Excellence to ensure they are informed of relevant and emergent issues and support development of briefings, action request responses, and recommendations as well as new trends/technology for API/interfaces.
  • Assist in the identification of opportunities for streamlining and process enhancement and offer recommendations.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate:

  • An awareness of government business plan goals, strategies, and priorities associated with corporate 1GX applications and strategic roadmap.
  • Strong communication skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation, regulations, ministerial orders, and guidelines, including legislation and directives (e.g., Public Service Act, Collective Agreements, Corporate Human Resources and Treasury Board policies and directives, Financial Administration Act, Government Accountability Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University graduation in a related field such as Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Sciences, Information Technology.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible related experience.

o Experience in SAP / S4 Hana or other ERP applications such as SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, Kyriba, OpenText, etc. as listed below.
o Experience in the business domain within the relevant stream and the business processes and practices within the stream (HCM, Payroll & Benefits, Finance and/or Supply Chain Management - SCM).

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education


Assets:

  • Project Management Professional designation.
  • Experience with ERP system (similar to 1GX) applications and data, including interactions between various modules and components of the solution (finance, human capital management, supply chain management and treasury).
  • Experience with ERP (similar to 1GX) solution access and permissions management frameworks, segregation of duties, governance and risk management, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and test environment management, data scrambling, application security and privacy, system integration and performance, 1GX controls framework, service request management, key performance indicators, etc.
  • Experience in project management principles, methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience in system design, including business process requirements with consideration for cost, audit requirements and practicality.
  • Expertise in Cloud solution, ERP systems and application development and enhancement methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • Experience with System development lifecycle, and change, transition, and implementation management.
  • Experience in a large, public sector environment.
