The Board of Education invites applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Northwest School
Division No. 203, with duties to commence August 1, 2024 or on a mutually agreed upon date.

The Division
The Northwest School Division is located against the Saskatchewan/Alberta border, midway between Saskatoon and Edmonton, where it serves approximately 4500 students in 22 schools located in 15 communities across the mid-west. These communities include Edam, Glaslyn, Goodsoil, Hillmond, Lashburn, Loon Lake, Maidstone, Marshall,
Meadow Lake, Neilburg, Paradise Hill, Pierceland, Rapid View, St. Walburg and Turtleford.
Educational services are based out of three service centers: one in the town of Marshall, one in the Town of Turtleford and the other in the City of Meadow Lake. This position will be based in the Meadow Lake office.
This progressive policy governance Board leads a division known for its strong support for professional development, high teacher engagement, a highly functional professional learning community model and other innovative approaches. The Division operating budget for 2023-2024 is $56.6 million.
The Candidate
The Board seeks an individual of vision and integrity who, as part of a team, will provide shared, critical leadership in support of the Board’s mission and vision of “Laying the Foundation for Success… One Student at a Time.” In addition to providing strong administrative leadership, the successful candidate will oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of a wide array of resource functions including, but not limited to budgeting, accounting, purchasing, capital construction, maintenance, technology, transportation, and FOIP/LAFOIP.
The ideal candidate will hold an accounting designation or related degree/certification, be eligible for membership in SASBO, and have several years of successful leadership experience. Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills, are important attributes. The ability to work effectively with all education partners is required.
