Our Need
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic CFO to lead our Finance Group, reporting directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will be a hands on professional ready to play a pivotal role in optimizing our financial performance, driving profitability, and providing insightful recommendations for continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities
As the CFO, you will oversee and enhance financial controls, processes, and procedures in line with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles for private enterprises. Your strategic focus will extend to continental operations across multiple legal entities.
Key responsibilities include:
· Enhance and maintain robust financial controls and procedures, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. This involves working closely with various departments to gather relevant financial data and ensure alignment with overall company goals.
· Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes and drive initiatives to improve the company's overall margin and financial performance. This may involve analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), variance analysis, and providing insights into financial trends. The director often prepares and presents financial reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
· Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making. These models may cover areas such as revenue projections, cost analysis, and investment evaluations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as accounting, operations, and sales, to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This collaboration helps in gathering accurate and timely financial data.
· Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate the company's financial performance. Develop and present financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making at the executive level and provide insights into areas where improvements or adjustments may be needed to achieve financial goals. Drive improvements in Cash Flow - DPO, DSA and NWC.
· Work closely with executive leadership in formulating and executing strategic initiatives, as well as playing a leading role in strategic vendor partnership and negations. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the company's overall strategic direction.
· Assess financial risks and work on strategies to mitigate these risks. This may involve identifying potential financial challenges and proposing solutions to manage and minimize negative impacts.
· Spearhead monthly financial packages on income statement and balance sheet. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during the annual review engagement and multiple compilation engagement. Serve as the first point of contact for Canada Revenue Agency, Corporate Banking, Insurance, Payroll and Benefits relationships.
· Manage and lead a team of financial analysts with oversight into AR and AP, responsible for various aspects of financial planning and analysis. Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members.
