Adecco presents a remarkable opportunity for a full-time Civil Design Engineer position on a long-term contract with one of Canada's premier petroleum refining companies based in Fort McMurray, AB. We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer adept in Environmental & water system design, boasting a minimum of 8 years' experience in Civil design, complemented by exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

• Location: Fort McMurray, AB | Fly in, fly out from Calgary & Edmonton

• Shifts: 14 days On 14 days off | 12 hours/day

• Job type: Full-time | 1-Year contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products

• Coordinate and communicate various issues among the company's and contractor's engineering team that affect the discipline engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work

• Evaluate/comment on work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of discipline design drawings and documents

• Identify and assess deviations to contract technical specifications and regulatory requirements and ensure that such deviations will be processed according to Company procedures by maintaining the deviation control log

• Steward discipline engineering queries from the Contractor and sub-contractors as well as technical information requests

• Keep the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed of discipline engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns

• Participate in discipline engineering reviews at the Contractor's and subcontractor's locations

• Drive and promote capital efficiency in engineering design

• Support internal engineering general interest or Global Practice initiatives as requested by Supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within the discipline

• Minimum 8 years of Civil design experience

• Profound knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria

• Water system design experience considered an asset

• Proficiency in Stamp Drawings, Auto Cad, and OneNote

• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for technical and business communications

• Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
