About the Opportunity
Our growing Courtenay office is looking to add a highly capable Civil Engineering Technologist to our team of professionals. The Courtenay teams generally works for small to medium municipal and indigenous communities. In addition to the learning and project experience, you can:
Coupled with unmatched learning opportunities, you can expect to be involved in the following:
- Honing your Civil Engineering knowledge and skills through drafting and design tasks using Civil 3D
- Supporting project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations
- Attending project meetings, collaborating closely with clients/contractors/internal team members whilst listening, communicating, and developing consulting and project documentation skills
- Communicating effectively with team members and project leaders
- Completing design calculations for civil infrastructure and preparing technical reports
- Supporting the project management design and construction of projects.
About You
This is a great opportunity for Civil Engineering Technologists with approximately 3 or more years of experience and a diploma from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology program. Given the variety of project needs and a desire to find the right person to join our team, we will consider candidates with a range of experience and education and encourage both new graduates and intermediate techs to apply.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow in their field, is curious about civil, and has a passion for building communities. The following skills, strengths and interests would be considered beneficial to this role:
- You are proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D and are excited to learn new software
- You are a self-starter that can work independently and collaborate effectively with others
- You take pride in producing high quality work and possess a strong attention to detail
- You have strong written and oral communication skills for communicating with team members and clients
- You are registered or eligible for certification with ASTTBC (preferred)
- You are committed to ongoing personal and professional development
