Our Team:

The Health Safety and Environmental team Interacts with management, occupational medicine and occupational hygiene departments, injured workers, W.S.I.B. and union representatives with respect to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Claims Administrator to join our Health Safety and Environmental Team in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.

The position provides support to the Claims department in processing claims as per the policies in place by (WSIB).

The position is accountable for:

  • Providing guidance and information as required to operating areas, first aid and safety personnel in accident reporting.
  • Maintaining various databases related to the Claims Department.
  • Duties related to STD, LTD and Vale’s ADI program.
  • Accurately completing and submitting all WSIB forms as per the legislative requirements.
  • Supporting the Group Leader in preparing reconciliation and monthly cost statements.
  • In consultation with the Group Leader, representing the Company at Board Level Appeals when required.
  • Providing administration support to the Claims Department as required.
  • Interacting with management, occupational medicine and occupational hygiene departments, injured workers, W.S.I.B. and union representatives with respect to WSIB claims.

About You

Education:

  • Community college graduate in Human Resources Management, other relevant discipline, or equivalent post-secondary education.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year processing WSIB claims or two or more years of experience in Human Resource related activities.


Skills:

  • Knowledge of W.S.I.B. legislation, policies, and obligations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and familiarity with Microsoft software Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
