About the role

We’re looking for a Claims Representative II, Accident Benefits, to join our growing team!

Working in our hybrid model, this role is located in St. John’s NFLD.
What you'll do here:                                                    

  • Proactively manage a caseload of moderate to complex accident benefit claims in an efficient manner and providing an exceptional claims journey for the customer.
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable. 
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements. 
  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, customers medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim. 
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements.
  • Assist junior staff with day-to-day issues, escalating more complex issues to senior specialists, consultant or management staff, as warranted.


What you bring to the table:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience adjudicating moderate to complex Accident Benefits claims.
  • Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing auto insurance.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Completed or working towards Chartered Insurance Professional designation, and have the ability to become licensed in all Atlantic provinces.
  • A college diploma or a university degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
