Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaning and Facilities Specialist to join our team and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of our two-story building and other owned and rented facilities, equipment and storage areas, accommodating the needs of KCR. This role involves a combination of cleaning, maintenance, and general facilities management tasks.


This position is going to be 20hr/per Week.


Reporting Structure:

Reports to the IT & Facilities Supervisor


Prime Functions:

Cleaning and Sanitization

  • Perform daily cleaning duties as required, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and surface disinfection in all areas of the building
  • Ensure restrooms and common areas are consistently clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies
  • Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations

Building and Outreach Vehicle Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any maintenance issues promptly
  • Report and coordinate repairs or maintenance with external vendors when necessary, in conjunction with IT & Facilities Supervisor
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance and functionality of buildings’ fixtures, such as lights and door hardware
  • Organize scheduled maintenance/service for outreach van (including oil changes, tire switchover, etc)
  • Ensure van has fuel and is clean and tidy at all times

Facilities Management

  • Assist in setting up and arranging furniture and equipment for various events and meetings
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly reorder as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to address specific facility-related requests or requirements
  • Manage/assist storage rental and other owned and rented facilities as required
  • Perform snow removal duties

Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure and hazard-free environment for employees
  • Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and be prepared to act swiftly in case of any building-related emergencies

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with employees and management to address facility-related concerns and requests
  • Keep detailed records of Cleaning and maintenance activities, reporting any major issues to the appropriate parties

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Cleaning and Facilities maintenance preferred
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well independently and in a team
  • Physical stamina to perform Cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • This position involves regular standing, walking, and lifting
  • Should be comfortable working in various environments and be able to handle cleaning chemicals safely (WHMIS Certification preferred)
