Job description

Job Summary:

Print Services at UFV invites applications for a permanent, 50% position. This position is in-person, and will work at both the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses.   

The Clerk, Print Services provides front-line service and consultation to students, faculty, and staff. The Clerk receives, prioritizes, and completes front desk orders and soft orders received via email.

The incumbent adheres to a high level of confidentiality and copyright laws with all photocopied and printed materials, and scans to file and archives copyright material that has been printed.

The Clerk, Print Services actively participates and contributes as a member of the Print Services Team.

The Clerk:

  • Services and consults students, faculty, and staff on Print Services orders; takes front desk orders and soft orders via email.
  • Prioritizes and completes Print Services orders in a timely manner.
  • Binds books, folding letters, and booklets.
  • Adheres to strict levels of confidentiality and copyright laws with all photocopied and printed material.
  • Orders supplies for quick print equipment.
  • Participates in departmental monthly meetings giving input and identifying areas of improvement and concerns on the needs for the department.
  • Scans to file and archives copyright material that has been printed.
  • Communicates in a respectful and professional manner with all members of the team, department, University community and external partners.
  • Collaborates effectively as a team member, including sharing information, cross training, and interpersonal cooperation.
  • Demonstrates respect for all members of the UFV community and proactively works to create an environment of inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Engages in learning and activities related to actioning indigenization and understanding the impact of colonialism and the purpose of reconciliation.
  • Participates in committees and project teams as required.
  • Undertakes related duties as assigned, consistent with the job grade of the position.
Qualifications: 
  • Completion of a certificate in office administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum one (1) year of clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other programs such as Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Publisher.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and related Print Services equipment is required.
  • Ability to multi-task under competing deadlines, follow written and oral instructions, work well under pressure, and troubleshoot is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and physically capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility with work with work schedules is required.
