Client Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting first level requests/calls from hospital staff and physicians. Calls are taken either directly by telephone or re-directed through a queue for on-site support. They resolve basic technical questions and work on hardware/software/network problems related to individual computer access. Client Support Specialists may also be responsible for monitoring the hospital’s Data Centre operations, to ensure availability, performance, security and reliability – including operating procedures, system backups/restores and system maintenance procedures

Permanent Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $29.28 per hour - $36.62 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

• Two (2) year Community College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Networking, or related discipline
• Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in Client Support role(s)
• Demonstrated knowledge of information technology and management information systems, modern electronic data processing theory, principles and practices, office automation and software applications
• Excellent customer service and personal interaction skills
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• Proficient problem resolution and troubleshooting skills and aptitude
• Proficient technical and analytical skills
• Knowledge of general hardware components, software applications and networking tools
• Knowledge of health care specific computer applications
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

• Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
• Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
• Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
