  • Collect, process, and analyze climate and operational data to identify trends, patterns and anomalies.
  • Develop and apply Data Science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical analysis, and visualization, to support planning for climate adaptation actions.
  • Collaborate with municipal staff and interested parties to understand their climate-related challenges and needs and provide data-driven insights and solutions.
  • Communicate and disseminate Climate Data and findings to various audiences using effective visualization techniques.
     
 
 
 
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a third year degree program in Data Science or Climate Science. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), PowerBI, Python or Equivalent.
  • Success in this position requires an ability to take initiative and identify innovative and efficient ways to analyze data.
  • Ability to focus on business goals while maintaining attention to detail and taking ownership and responsibility for one's work.
     
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2024.
  • If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).

Compensation: $27.16 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
